National Best Business Award Winner 2006

We'd like to take a minute and tell you something important about our company.

Back in June 2002, when DumpRunner was still just a concept on paper, the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (www.cybf.ca) stepped in and provided much needed financial support and mentoring for our initial startup. CYBF's mandate is to develop and promote the generation of small businesses by young entrepreneurs through a combination of mentoring and start up capital. As is the case with most young entrepreneurs, we had an idea (and some experience) but little in the way of financial wealth upon which to draw. CYBF's loan committee reviewed the business plan for DumpRunner and decided we were worth the risk of a startup loan. Keep in mind that a large weighting of the approval for funding is based on an entrepreneur's potential for success, and not on how much equity they can put into the business. CYBF may be a non profit organization, but you still have to prove you are worthy of the loan.

Did we merit that trust?

In April 2006, DumpRunner Waste Systems was selected as the Canadian Youth Business Foundation's choice for "Best Business Alberta".  The 2006 award was by no means given away; the company had to prove itself on a number of historical financial and operational criteria. Following that award, the company was then stacked against 9 other provincial winners, and all were evaluated against each other as a group.

There was a Helicopter Company from Ontario, a Renewable Energy Control Technology company from Newfoundland, and even a group of young ladies from Vancouver that had developed a line of garnishes. Business plans, financials and summaries were again mulled over by some very "experienced" members of the national business community; we're talking multibillion dollar company CEO's here. As well, we had to prove our continued viability as a corporation, and demonstrate that we had an implementable plan for the future. Trust us, that bunch saw right through any attempts at "smoke and mirror" fluff. All 10 provincial winners travelled to Toronto for the Award Gala in May 2006.

And how did the garbage folks from Alberta do?

DumpRunner Waste Systems was selected as CYBF's "National Best Business Award winner for 2006"

As nice as all this is, as a customer you might be asking yourself  "Why should this influence my descision to use DumpRunner?"

Simple. We just wanted to point out that DumpRunner isn't some "Fly By Night" Operation. We're not here for a quick buck...most definitely not. Our business success has been due to the long term relationships we have had with our clients. Heck, we get phonecalls out of the blue from previous customers we did work for 3 or 4 years ago! Now that's flattering!

In 6 years we have built a fantastic clientele of loyal customers, and we continue to forge new relationships every single day. Our successful growth can be attributed to the firm belief that business should be always be conducted with integrity and with honour.

Perhaps some think those ideals to be archaic beliefs that have no place in the modern world.

We say otherwise.
